Last week, I wrote about taking the time to update your marketing materials and an important part of that is updating your website. Many people put a website up and never think about it again or worse, buy a website template and don’t change it to make it their own. Here are 4 ideas that you can do to bring your website into 2011:
Now that Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn have become so popular make sure you have links to your profiles prominently displayed on your website. Draw attention to them, ask people to follow you and let them know what they will be gaining by doing so.
When was the last time you updated the copy on your website? Take a look at your about us and your home page. More often than not those are the two pages that most websites need to update. Also have you added any new services or products to your business that need to be added to your website?
As I mentioned last week, you can no longer afford for your website to be static. It has to provide something of value that keeps people coming back to your site and learning more about you, your business and what you have to offer. A blog can do just that and can help people get to know you better. If you aren’t sure how to start a blog check out our blogging challenge for the month of April.
This is probably one of the most critical parts of any website. There are many websites out there that have outdated graphics and layouts that could use a fresh design. Sometimes an entire website makeover is the best bet and can cost less than you may think.
